The immunity to change made simple
Hello Friends,
One of my favorite quotes is “If you want to change the world, start with yourself.” Gandhi is credited with saying this. By doing the inner work, he created massive change in the world.
Many of us on the path of awakening to greater consciousness want to experience more peace in our lives, and contribute our gifts to the world at such a critical time.
But we bump into something that a lot of folks aren’t aware of.
No matter what our goal is—whether it’s to have a consistent daily meditation practice, get a raise at work, start a business, create more equity, or have an uncomfortable conversation …
There’s a part of our brain that says, “No! Don’t do it!”
It’s so unconscious that we don’t even realize it’s happening. This deep fear response is meant to keep us safe, and has been part of the human brain for a very long time.
It keeps us off the meditation cushion and the yoga mat. It keeps our latest, most exciting, creative idea just another scribbling on the to-do list. The good news is that we can work our “immunity to change” and move beyond it.
When we do, our level of resilience, creativity, innovation, and leadership can increase significantly.
I'm happy to share that our friends at Sounds True are offering a short presentation on moving beyond the immunity to change. The presentation covers:
What neuroscience reveals about why most people don’t achieve their goals, even when they’re dedicated and determined to do so
A 4-step process to overcome your immunity to change, and a roadmap to move you closer to achieving the goals that matter the most to you
A method to develop a clear picture of what success looks like for you, and the next steps you can take to get there … all while “doing” less
We're very happy to be supporting this course and the Inner MBA program. If you’ve been working on a goal for a while, no matter how small or large, this may be one of the most important concepts to understand.
When you have this 4-step process, you’ll be able to work with your immunity to change, rather than silently getting in the way of what you truly want.
